I.W. Harper 15 Year Old Bourbon — Review

Overview:

Love the bottle design, for what it's worthy, but the juice inside it is money!

Is I.W. Harper 15 my favorite bourbon?  I don’t know.  But I know it’s in the running  Seriously.  If someone told me I couldn’t drink anything but this whiskey for the rest of my life, I think I’d be okay with that.  What’s weird is I haven’t tasted it’s younger, cheaper brother yet.  I hear that’s good too.

Company Specs:

Sweeter up front with grain and corn immediately apparent, I.W. HARPER 15-Year-Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey then moves into notes of oak, raisin, caramel, spice, and vanilla. The finish leaves a long and lasting mouthfeel perfect for enjoying on the rocks, or neat to truly appreciate the full flavor profile.

ABV: 86 proof, 43% ABV

Awards:

None that I’m aware of.

Tasting Rating: A-

Yeah, this stuff is legit.  I highly recommend it.  Balanced, smooth and tasty!  Yeah, at $80 a bottle it’ll give you some pause to pull the trigger, but it’s totally worth it, I think.

Value Rating: B

$80.  Did I mention that?  Yikes!  It’s double what I ideally like to spend on a bottle of whiskey.

Overall Rating: A-

I love it.  Can’t say enough good things about it.  I typically drink my bourbon in a manhattan, but this stuff is so good that I think I prefer it neat.
